I think he has Roseola - on his bday!

So last night my mom picked DS up from daycare and noticed a very light rash on his back & chest.  He also felt a little warm.

I took his temp and it was 102. Gave him dinner, motrin, and put him to bed early because he was super tired. 

This morning - temp was 100 and the rash was on his forehead too. 

I think it's roseola (just by reading stuff online).  

And today is his birthday! DH & I were both leaving work at noon to take him to the zoo.  Well, might just have to go to the doc instead.

Yikes!  I'm sorry.  Kat ran a fever of 101 for about 3 days, then the fever broke and she got a rash on her face, then on her trunk.  Pedi had us pull her out of daycare b/c her immune system was so low, she was afraid of what she might pick up from the other kids.  hope your DC feels better!

DD just had Roseola a week ago i think the fever comes and goes then the rash?  Usually not at the same time.. I would call your doc anyways.. Happy B-day to him !!

This was my understanding too.  DD had Roseola and she had a high fever that fluctuated for 4-5 days, then once the fever broke, she got the rash.  The rash was a sign that it was ending.  She actually was back to herself at that point because she no longer had the fever and the rash didn't affect her.  I'd double check with your pedi.  It doesn't sound like Roseola to me.  I hope he feels better soon!  Happy Birthday to him!
