Gonal-F or Follistim

My re is letting me choose which one I want to use. Does anyone have any opinions on this?

    They're both pretty much the same thing, just different chemical structures- Follistim is follitropin beta, Gonal-F is follitropin alpha.

    I am on Gonal-F. Never been on Follitism.

    If given a choice, I would base my decision solely on cost seeing as they are basically the same thing.

    I am not sure off the top of my head.

    But, you should be able to go to an on-line pharmacy like freedom fertility meds and see what price they quote on their website.  Or, you could call around.

    this. my nurse actually had me call my insurance to see which one they cover. from what she said they are the same thing, just different brands and she advises patients to use what their insurance will cover more of. or if they are oop which will cost less.

    Ok, I just looked at the videos of how to administer both and I think Follistim looks easier. The difference in price seems to be minimal when I looked online so i will go with that one. Thanks!

    I've used follistim and it was pretty easy with the pen...but I've never tried gonal-f...I agree with pp...find out which one is less expensive...for instance I know that the price for follistim at freedom pharmacy is quite a lot because I thnk it is made by their competitor.

    Ok, I didnt realize Gonal-f is in the pen form too. It comes with a little cartridge as well that doesn't need to be mixed with a powder?

    Never been on Follistim, but I used the gonal-f multidose pack and it was pretty easy.
