another vent....sorry!

DH called his grandpa last night (we usually call once or so a week - DH's family lives OOS) only to find out that he had been in the hospital for 2 days getting a blockage to his heart removed!

this was several days ago that this happened, and we heard nothing about it! DHs mom didnt even call to tell us! (not that i expect much from her seeing as how she, her "new" DH and DH's little sister are all leaving on a week long cruise the week of DS's birthday and wont be here to celebrate the weekend we go OOS)

DH had lived in GA (where his family is) until july of last year, and we saw them regularly when we lived there after we got married (we moved to SC july of last year). we visit them once a month atleast, but no he doesnt have a "distant" relationship with them. granted his mom NEVER calls us, we always have to call her to see how things are going and give her updates on DS.

you would think with DS being the ONLY grandchild he would get more attention from her but....
