Anyone have the Summer Video Monitor?

I just bought a used one on Craigslist. Its not the handheld kind..it has the big monitor. I'm wondering if I"m doing something wrong or I bought a lemon. After an hour or so, the whole unit would shut off (not just the pic). I'd have to switch the on/off switch to get it back on. Is that normal? Also, the part of the plug that goes in the outlet gets pretty warm.

Hope I didnt throw out money. Thanks

    Mine has never done that.  The worst it does is get fuzzy if we sit in the wrong part of the room.  As in, DH and I seem to be interference at times.  It's never shut off though.

    I have a Summer VM that I bought off of Craigslist as well. It is a newer model with a flat screen, but it works beautifully (never shuts off and really rarely has any interference).
