She might need some type of orthotic to help keep her legs straight so she can walk correctly. You don't want her gait pattern to be screwy because it can cause unnecessary wear and tear on certain joints, ligaments and tendons. And having bowed legs probably affect her balance.
If I were you, I would get a referral from your pedi for an pediatric orthopaedic dr.
labellagirl:how bow-legged? did you notice it before your mom said something? how long has she been walking? i ask, because my pedi told me that all babies are bowlegged until they are about 2 or 3 and not to let my mom or grandma talk me into thinking that something is wrong with her - apparently there's some sort of old wives tale that walking too early causes our child to be bowlegged - anyway, i would check with your pedi first and see what he/she thinks
My pedi told me the same thing because my MIL told me Buglet was bowlegged. Labella's right - definitely check with your pedi first to see what he/she recommends.
Caleb was very bow-legged until he was around 2. VERY. Everyone I knew told me I needed to take him to a specialist to get them straighted out. I never took him b/c my pedi told me otherwise. Now he walks completely normal
I wouldn't even start to be concerned about it at her age.
