I got mine at 2 months pp...and my little surprise (the cute little baby in my sig) at 4 months pp...on the mini pill. I have an IUD now
Seriously though, I think you can go a while and not get it since #1 you are bf'ing and #2 you're on a pill.
ETA: sorry, I guess you're not bf'ing anymore...I'm trying to do too many things at once. You should probably switch to something else now that you're done.
I think it took 6 weeks to 2 months after I weaned before I got AF. I don't remember exactly, but it wasn't right after I weaned. However, you should switch to a regular BCP or another form of BC since you have weaned. The mini pill works in conjunction with BFing and isn't as effective once you wean.
It was 15 months pp before I got my first period after DD #1 was born. I hadn't been excusively BFing since she was 2 weeks old, but was still BFing part-time. My OB-GYN said that "the mini-pill is supposed to keep the uterus quiet" and that it's not unusual to NOT get a period for a while, while on it.
If it makes you feel any better (after all the horror stories above) I have been on the mini-pill 3 times: for 15 mos, for 11 mos & then for 4 mos, after each of my 3 youngest children. It was adequate protection. As long as you take it EVERY day at the same time, you should be fine.
EDIT: I agree that if you are not BFing any longer, it's time to get on the regluar pill.
Or if you are gradually weaning its time to re-think bc (from experience)... Baby #2 came 19 months after baby #1 and baby #3 is coming 19 months after Baby #2... (On a side note, I think I'm freakishly fertile approx 9 months post partum)
I also got a regular period while breastfeeding and taking the mini - everyone is different...
