My doppler is waiting at home for me but...

 I'm terrified to use it. I was SUPPOSED to be at my docs right now but they had to reschedule for tomorrow due to him being in surgery. I've had 3 M/C, 2 at this point in pregnancy, I'm afraid I'll look for a HB and won't hear one and will spend all night and pretty much all day ( my appt is at 5pm!1) tmrw worrying. I'm 12wks and 5 days. Think I have a shot at hearing the HB? Where should I look for it?

My husband didn't want me buying one for the same reason.  You should definitely have a shot at hearing the heartbeat at almost 13 weeks as long as you have a pretty good doppler.  I heard it already at 8w 3d.  Most people seem to find it just above the hairline, pointing down towards the pubic bone, with a bit of pressure and to one side a bit.  At 13 weeks your baby might be up a bit higher than that.

Edit: Oh, and make sure you have a full bladder.

Sorry to hear about your losses.? I don't have my own doppler but for my first pregnancy in the beginning the heartbeat was always very low, like right above my pubic bone.? Again this could be different for every person.? Good luck with it tonight:)??

I would wait until your appointment tomorrow - then you can watch where/how the Dr finds the heartbeat and rid yourself of unnecessary worrying.

This! I know it's tempting to use it tonight but hold out one more day, that way if you have a hard time finding it tomorrow you'll have just been at the doctors so you won't worry the same way.

You should hear it right above the pubic bone

make sure you have a full bladder. Lay down on the floor and make sure you use a lot of the gel, start right on your pubic bone and SLOWLY move up. Take your time and if you think it will freak you out if you don't find it DON'T do it! Good luck!
