1st Trimester

Is this happening to any one sorry TMI

Ok, so before we confirmed I noticed any time I went to the restroom and go #2 it would hurt, almost like it cut me in my rectum area.  So now, I am going regularly and taking the pre-natal with a stool softener and its not helping.  So every time I do go it feels like its cutting me and blood does come out Sad.  Has this happen to any one?

So sorry for TMI Tongue Tied.

  • I would call your regular doc.  Could be nothing....could be a fissure.

  • yepp. Sounds like you need more fiber. I take a fiber pill b/c the stuff you mix in water is GROSS. Also drink LOTS of water, that will also help tremendously. Sounds like classic constipation in pregnancy, nothing to worry about.

OH, I've also had a fissure...HURTS, like you avoid going to the bathroom it hurts so bad. I say if the fiber and water doesn't help in a week or 2 then go to your doc.

  • unfortunatly this happened to my best friend, turned out to be a tear caused by hemmoroids
  • Do you take a certain type of fiber?  I was wondering if I can continue to take Metamucil?
  • I drink prune juice for the constipation and it really helps
  • Sounds like hemorrhoids to me! ?Happens to me too. ?You can call your doc, but you can also get over the counter witch hazel pads (tucks), they seem to help.
  • I'd try to eat lots of fruit & drink as much water as you can stand.  This happened to me early on & it wasn't a fissure or hemorrhoids - just pregnancy constipation.  If you increase your fiber & fluids & things don't get better in a few days, I'd call your doc.

  • Sorry to hear you're going through this - I just read the section on hemorrhoids in my preg book today so to me, it sounds like that.  Talk to your doc - and the prenatal with a stool softner should help some.  But whatever you do, make sure you don't take any laxatives!
  • It's called a hemorrhiod.  Get used to them.
  • yep thats me!  I had this issue last pregnancy and am having it again already.  Just a warning..dont push hard! I got severe hemroids and they hurt so bad and were so disgusting.  Eat lots of fiber and drink lots of water.  GL!

  • Oh man I can sympathize with you.  I have chrones disease and had all kinds of problems before I got pregnant.  I had three fissures.  They hurt so bad.  Prob one of the most painful things I ever went through and unfortanutely since I got preg they have returned but not as bad. There is not really much that can be done esp while preg.  You really need to try and eat a lot of fiber.  I take colace daily.  If I get constipated it's worse.  Also a warm bath does wonders for that area.  Ask your ob but if you need to take additional stool softners it should not be a prob.  Fiber one bars and kashi cereal help me.  Good luck and I hope you feel better.

  • Call your doctor and up your fiber.

I drink Plumb Smart and if your doc approves it, you can take Senokot occassionally to make it easier to go.
