Parenting after 35

DS meet "the crib" and YOUR room

After 6 weeks of sleeping in the bassinet in our room (with the exception of the one week we had the baby nurse), we're transitioning Aaron to the crib in HIS room.

He is so big now (last Monday was 11 lb 10 oz) and his arms can touch either side of the bassinet. So my DH and I figured it was time to make the switch. He's not the best sleeper, so I'm thinking this will NOT be easy.

Wish me luck.

  • You might be really surprised.  My older DD slept in our room in a bassinet until she was 5 weeks and once she was in her own room, she started sleeping so much better and so did I.

  • DH and I decided to transition our youngest into her own crib, in her own room at about 5-6 weeks. DD slept through the night! And so did we. She has been sleeping through the night ever since.?

  • Good luck! Sarah has been in her crib from day 1 but we slept in her room until last Saturday. She did totally fine (sleeping 7-9 hours every night without waking) but I slept terribly the first few nights with just the baby monitor - I was so nervous I wouldn't hear her cry. The last few nights have been bliss. You might find out the same thing...
