If you BF and use bottles ....

The post below got me thinking about nipples.  I honestly wasn't ever planning on changing to the stage 2 nipples as long as I am still breastfeeding because I don't want LO to get used to eating that fast since when he nurses he will not have that option.  Anyone else doing this?  Also, LO can already down his 4 oz bottle in about 10 minutes on the stage one nipples.

eventually you will want to go to the stage 2 nipples. as they get older they will get more efficient at nursing and will get it faster. they start to become frustrated with the slower nipples.

Us - we tried fast flow a few nights ago b/c I thought his fussiness lately w/ the bottle was b/c of slow flow.  He hated it.  I think the fussiness was just part of his growth spurt.  We'll stick w/ slow flow.

I am with you. No plans to use faster nipples and possibly make breastfeeding seem "harder" for him.

This. You should at least have the next stage ready for who ever's watching LO. DS was so frustrated one day while I was at work and was so mad at every bottle time. We switched the next day I worked to faster flow nipples and he was so much happier. It never made it harder for me to BF him.
