Someone thought J was a girl...

and he was wearing basically the same outfit as in my siggy (except a green polo). This lady asked, "How old is SHE?" I know this sometimes happens (although this was a first for us), so I politely said, "Well HE is...". The lady then asked me, "Oh, are there 2 in there?" Because she couldn't believe J was a boy & thought there had to be a second child in the stroller that I was referring to.

Seriously!?!? Lady - open mouth, insert foot, & now cram it just a little farther down in there.

Re: Someone thought J was a girl...

  • J definitely doesn't look like a girl especially if you had him dressed in a polo shirt.

I hate when people mistake DS for a girl.  Not because I care, I just don't know how to tactfully correct them without them feeling dumb.

Still, that's not as bad as when I kept telling this couple that their son was cute.  They seemed sort of snobbish but whatever.  Then, as I was walking off the elevator I noticed their stroller was pink.  Whoops!  Embarrassed

  • Just recently we were walking Nora in our neighborhood and a lady asked us if Nora was a boy or girl... she was wearing a pink bow, has really long hair and had on a pink shirt... nope, she's a boy...Indifferent

  • It makes me mad too. And J does not look anything like a girl! Keira was dressed hed to toe in pink and someone asked me how old HE was. I about slapped her upside the head. Dumbass.

  • I am really lost sometimes how people look at a child that is clearly one sex but ask if they are the oppostie especially with a girl with a bow in her hair. and some babies are hard to tell but i def. dont think J is hard to tell he is a boy!!
