DH thought we should get something for his mom and my mom at the hospital after baby is born. This is my mom's first grandchild and MIL second. I don't think I've ever heard of this, and asked DH what kinda gift he was thinking. Of course he didn't know and thought I would know. Then he said he would be getting me something.
For grandmas I guess flowers? The only thing I could think of would be to make a bracelet and spell baby's name out on beads...
Re: Getting grandma a gift?
I'm not really doing this, but I am making a scrapbook for both sets of grandparents that I will give to them with the rest of their holiday gifts...
I have never heard of this.
Personally I don't understand why you would buy your moms gifts. They didn't give birth, and they will be bringing you gifts....seems odd to me. Maybe get them some brag books or photo frames?
Oh good idea, I should do something like this for a christmas gift...hmmm
I got the grandparents frames when we announced our BFP. Not sure that I will get them anything for delivery day though. My mom passed away last month...and I would love to get my dad a hat or shirt that says PAPA on it..but then I would feel obiligated to get the ILs something...and I don't want to. ha.
THIS!!!!! You've already done enough work...let them "gift" you something!
