I have a question re: woven sizing. I'm looking to take the plunge and buy a woven. I'm eyeing a wrap on TBW FSOT thats 5.1m. It was suggested to me by a BW consultant that I'd want at least a 4.6m wrap and she suggeted this one, but the seller actually suggested it may be too long for me. I'm 5'6", 140lbs, avg build. I imagine I'll be doing a lot of front carries for now. The only wrapping experience I have is with a Moby (aren't they 5.5m??) and the length doesn't bother me - not sure if extra length would be a different issue with a woven. I suppose it could be hemmed but would rather not have to bother. I've also found a couple 4.5m and 4.7m wraps that I like but not as much. Too many choices!!!
Also, did you try on a bunch of different styles before buying one or just jump right in? I'm getting some great suggestions re: beginner wovens but it seems like everyone's prefrences are different and I'm wondering if I'm being too hasty.
Any thoughts or suggestions? TIA!
Re: **ncbelle** (and others who wrap with wovens!)
I'd say if the price is right and you love it - go for it! Which one is it out of curiousity??
It will likely be a bit long for you - you would have no trouble doing all the carries with a 4.6 and maybe even with a 4.2 once you get the hang of it. I think the moby is 5.5 yards so the one you are looking at is about the same length. If you aren't bothered by wrapping back around, it will certainly work fine for you. I've taken a few wraps to a local tailor to be hemmed - I think it was about $8; at least that's an option if you do find it too long.
Everyone's preferences are different. I think trying something you like the look of will help you figure out what you do and don't like - so if you get this one and decide it's too thick or too thin or whatever, that would help you figure out which one you like better. I think any woven you try will be much more supportive and comfy than the moby for sure.

Thanks so much!
It's a Storch Leo marine. She also has a shorter one in natural but I LOVE the blue. Sound like it's very broken in, and I've been told it will be a forgiving wrap for a beginner. I think I'm going to give it a go - so excited!
