This is so lame of me, but I hate looking at my shower pics

My friend just posted them on our shared drive, and it's making me sad to look at them. There's my husband, looking all cute, and I look like a WHALE. I know I shouldn't worry about it right now, but I really wish I'd been better about keeping up the arm weights. Or worn something with sleeves today. Ugh.

I'm the same way.  I can't stand to look at my shower pics (at least the ones that I'm in). My arms and calves each look like I'd attached a ham to them.  Like I was stockpiling for the major holidays of the year to come or something.  It's long pants and long sleeves from now on.

Im always criticizing myself too.

im playing it off that if someone sys anything (mainly if the baby says anything) that I will go off on them. lol.

Im sure you look beautiful- it's the pregnant eyes that throw off our judgement!

My husband came for a little while. My boss came, and a couple of the other guys dropped in and had cake. They looked a little overwhelmed by all the estrogen and pink stuff, though!

It's not lame of you at all. My friend took my pics from the SIDE and caught my big ol fat chin on every single pic. Not cute, but whatever. It will go away.

The smile takes away from the chin and arm flab, right?

I am so worried I am going to be like this at my shower.  I keep trying different outfits on because I want to look good for the pictures.  My DH has been very supportive but I feel huge.  I am hoping it is just me!

I totally agree!  I thought I was looking pretty awesome on the day of my shower, but when I look at the pictures I feel like a total heifer.  My face is super fat and when you see me next to DH, I look like a big sumo wrestler who could crush him with my bare hands.

You probably look really cute but are just being extra hard on yourself. I think most people judge themselves more harshly, pregnant or not! If it bothers you alot then just pick the pictures that you like out and put the rest away. That is what I do. My mom had a really low self-esteem and she actually destroyed all of the pictures of her from her whole life and now she regrets it. I have seen a couple that other relatives still have and I think she looked normal/cute!

Thank you - I was going to argue with you because I thought the picture I had in there was one from 12 weeks ago, but I cannot because not only was that picture taken last week, it's the same dress. SO I will just say thank you for the compliment!

It's something that you'll be grateful to have them when you're back to yourself. You'll feel so accomplished, and wonder how big you were. I'm sure you looked beautiful!

I understand what you are saying. I was just in a wedding and I can't stand to look at the pictures. The dress was VERY unflattering. I even felt like I ruined my best friends wedding pictures!

I feel the same way! Haha! I was doing arm weights and walking in the beginning then it tapered off, by the time of my shower I was noticeably bigger. 

I'm due in a week and I can't wait!

I felt that way at my first shower in my "cute" dress. Yeah, well what was cute at 25 weeks, not so much at 32 weeks!

I wore pants to my second shower- at least you can't see my grossly swollen calves!

LOL - I feel like I "peaked" in pregnancy cuteness about 25 weeks. That's the best size. Definitely pregnant, but not huge. After that you just start feeling ridiculous.

I feel the same way!  I feel huge in all my pictures, but I'm hanging on to them.  Someday I'll look back and (maybe) think I didn't look as bad as I thought.  I know it's that way with other pics of myself.  Back in hs when I thought I was fat...and now I only wish I could be that skinny again!

I know exactly how you feel. Most of the pictures are of me sitting down and opening presents... so not only do I look ginormous, but I'm often looking down at the gift and thus have a million chins. Awesome!

I am glad to know that I am not alone. I have been worried about friends and family taking pics at my showers and how much I would hate the way I look in them. A friend posted some pics of me from a football game last month and I was wearing a dress and all I could think about was how huge I looked sitting down. I agree, nothing but pants and tops with sleeves around cameras for me!!!
