3rd Trimester

Dh's uncle, who is about 60 years old.. tried to diagnose me.

He has no medical background, so don't think that..?

I had to go to L&D the Sunday before last b/c of the cough that won't go away. It was so bad, I didn't sleep and really felt like I couldn't breathe. Nice.

So.. a few days later DH's (very, super weird) uncle is dropping off a ladder at my house. I let the dogs out back and they started barking, I never saw his truck off to the side, so I checked, saw the truck, kinda freaked b/c we don't really know him so much, so I had no idea that it was his truck.

He says "Hey ellemoney, how are you feeling?"

Me: Good

Weird Uncle: I heard you were in the hospital.?

So I'm thinking.. that's really weird and odd that you knew I was in the hospital. I almost felt like it was an invasion of privacy b/c we never see these people. ?I have no idea why he knew I went to L&D but whatever.?

Me: Yea, I just have a cough/cold that I can't get rid of. I've had it almost the whole time I've been pregnancy.

Him: Well, it's probably just allergies. Do you feel like your nose is stuffy?

It was weird in the way he said it.. like he was actually trying to diagnose me. I know it won't read that way, but it was just so odd.

So I said It's just a cold, I'll be ok.

Him: I've got allergies too, I know how bad they are.

Yea, thanks for the sympathy. Bye now. WEEEIIIIRRDD. ?

  • maybe it's just me but i don't see why that is so weird?

seems like he was just trying to sympathize with you.

  • Loading the player...
  • Yes.. after I typed it, it doesn't read weird.?

I think it's one of those you had to be here things.. I think it's the factors that aren't written that made it weird to me... like him and his personality.. he's just a weird fellow in general and the way he said it.. but it definitely does not read like that.?

    Lost in translation, lol. ?

  • LOL

that happens to me a lot, especially since I got pregnant. I'll be trying to tell my DH a story about something that bothers me and afterwards he'll say "i don't see the big deal or why you're so mad"

i wish life had a rewind and replay button to show people stuff sometimes, lol

  • Exactly! That happens all the time to me!! I think I don't relay stories back well, LOL.?

It was just the oddest thing b/c he's just a strange fellow. And then the fact that he knew I was at the hospital was just super weird to me. ?It was like that was personal info or something and then he knew it and it weirded me out.

It could just be because we *never* talk to these people (Dh's Uncle & his wife). Ever. We see them like once a year at this family reunion thing that DH's dad's family has. Other than that, we don't see them. ?So I guess he's more like a stranger.??
