Observation about holiday toddler/baby clothes

This pertains mostly to Halloween, Christmas, and Easter, because that's when I seem to have the issue.

Why do they sell a lot of sleeveless dresses/shirts/costumes? Is it because they figure people in warm climates can buy them and the majority of us who are in colder climates can just buy a sweater (more $$$) and tights to keep them warm?

Maybe I'm just tired and should go to bed, but I'm looking at Gymboree's holiday line and it bugs me.

  • I know! DD was looking with me, and of course she likes the sleeveless red velvet dress from Gymboree best. That will work well with -20 degrees. They did have a couple sweater dresses. I'm waiting to see if Hanna Andersson will have any that I like better.

  • I feel your pain. Last year on Halloween it's was hot, but a couple of years ago it was snowing. Christmas is always tricky finding something, because it's freezing here in Ohio that time of year.

  • Yeah, it makes me crazy.  But, I cannot resist the green dresses at Crazy 8.  I'll just try to find them cute sweaters.

For costumes, I just always buy warm ones, in hopes that the girls' don't have to wear their winter coats OVER the costume.  I hated doing that as a kid.
