smoke? I'm not talking about right now obviously (i hope your not) but i'm just curious if any of you guys used to smoke before finding out you were pregnant? And if you are do you plan on going back to smoking after LO is born?

I used to smoke but quit when we decided we wanted to try and get pregnant. it ended up taking a year to get my BFP so now I have been smoke free for over a 17 months. after all that work quitting there is no way on this green earth would i ever go back to smoking again

Good for you! I can't really picture any of you guys smoking though! LOL

I used to smoke, but stopped once I found out i was pregnant. For a while I said I was going to go back to it, but now I'm not as sure... I've done it for so long now that I don't think i'll go back to it. Or if I do end up going back, it will probably be like one cigarette once in a blue moon

Why would you ever go back though? That's something I just don't understand. If you haven't smoked while pregnant, and you've kicked the habit, knowing all of the health risks why would you ever pick one up again? You should stay smoke free for your own health so you can say you did everything possible for your own health for the sake of your LO and future grand children.

not that i'm judging you if you do decide to go back, i just don't understand why you would want to

my mother has the onset of pulminary disease and she will probably have emphysema within the next 2 years and just can't quit smoking because it's been too long. after seeing the hell she has to go through daily with her breathing i don't want to make my LO have to watch me like that and feel as helpless as I feel right now

I don't plan on going back, cause I kicked the habit, not that it was one anyway.

But i meant like if i was to go back (which i don't think is going to happen) I don't think it would be like the way i used to smoke. Thinking of going back to smoking would be too much effort anyways. If it was to happen it would strictly be right after LO is put to bed. It would be outside. And i would have to take a shower after it cause i want no trail of smoke to be around her.

I quit the day I got my BFP (luckily at like 4 weeks) and I'm planning never to go back. DH was supposed to quit, but LO will be here in 9 days and so far, nope.  He has cut back a lot and doesn't smoke anywhere near me.

I had my last one about 2 minutes after my pee-stick test came back positive and haven't had one since (so roughly 33 weeks).  I hope I don't go back to it, but man, if a glass of wine and a newport don't sound good right now...
