I asked at my appointment today if he does estimates on weight, since everyone is asking me. He said he doesn't, because they are innacurate, but he is watching to make sure my baby doesn't get too big (I'm measuring right oon time right now.
Me. My OB always measures my fundal height, and tells me how many centimeters my uterus is, but she said those measurements really are not very accurate as far as determining how big the baby actually is. She said it can all change depending on if the baby is at the top of the uterus or if she is all stretched out in there.
Re: Anyone else's doc not do weight estimates?
Mine doesn't.
Me neither.
My OB says that they can be inaccurate and can discourage my laboring if it shows that I have a "big" baby.
Mine doesn't, and I'm glad she doesn't!
