Crafty nesties - seeking Halloween costume help.

Mia wants to be "Ariel" this year so I'm planning to dress Jilli up as "Flounder". I enjoy making their costumes so no store bought ones for me, but I'm having trouble deciding on the base for Jilli's costume.

1.) Do I use a gold hoodie and save me the sewing even though it's not the correct color yellow? She can then use the hoodie as an actual jacket.

or

2.) Do the costume correctly, which will take more time/effort, but probably cost less and will look better in the end.

I'm just worried about the "time" part. It's so limited these days! But I guess it's not even October yet.

I'm right there with you!  I have a really cute idea for C's costume, but I have to make it, and I really do not have the time to be sewing costumes these days.  It will be worth it in the end!
