Moms of boys...getting rid of your girl stuff

I am pregnant with our second son, and I am in a major decluttering mode.  I was just thinking yesterday that if we decide not to try again for baby#3 or if that baby is not a girl, I will have tons of girl stuff I kept from my childhood that no one will use.

Have you gotten rid of your girly things if you are done with kids?  It would be so nice not to store it, and it's not like I will be playing with Barbies any time soon.  Should I save it for potential granddaughters?

  • I didn't really keep any girly toys from my childhood, but if I did I'd probably still hang onto them.  Even if your boys don't play with barbies, they might like to see the toys you played with growing up.

  • I would save some for potential granddaugters if I were you.  My mom saved a bunch of clothing & toys from my 3 siblings & me that I now use for our kids!  It is SO COOL to have my DD's wearing dresses that I wore!  I am so glad she did that.  They think it's the coolest, too.  And DS#2 wears some things that my brothers wore (things that are not too dated!) since they don't have kids yet.   And to be able to have dolls that were mine that my DD's can now play with- AWESOME!  We have some "boy" toys from my brothers for DD #2, also.
