She broke my camera...little long, kind of vent

My little sister got married this weekend and after getting our hair done at the salon, we decided to take a group shot of all the bridesmaids outside.  I asked my cousin's girlfriend if she would take a picture with my camera, and she agreed.  The picture taking was just about over when a bee came dive bombing in and startled her.  She threw her hands up in the air and my camera went bouncing down the sidewalk.  Now when i turn it on it says "lens error, restart camera" and the cover for the battery won't stay shut. It was an accident, but I'm still pretty bummed.  DH bought me that camera for christmas last year.  The girlfriend offered to give me money for a new camera, but she's in college and i'm sure doesn't have much money, and I've litterally met her twice.  I felt bad saying, "Yeah cut me a check for what the camera is worth."

I would just go out and get a new one, but i'm doing the SAHM thing and although we are ok on just DH's salary, $200 or so would really hurts us for the month.  Just a little bummed I won't be able to get shots of DS for awhile.

That stinks!  Did you try to google the type of camera and te error message to see if it is fixable?  Just a thought!
