I need a recipe for marinara sauce that doesn't use anything canned!

I've made one before, but I can't find the recipe to save my life. Everything calls for canned tomato sauce. I don't have canned tomato sauce, and we woke up this morning with hand, foot, and mouth, so we won't be making a trip to the grocery today.

If you have whole tomatoes you can use them instead of the canned with the same recipe.  I don't have a recipe, I just wing it but have used tomatoes out of the garden or canned at home.

I don't think your kids will eat it with HFM though.  It will burn like mad.
