LO hates the car seat

We have to swaddle her in the car seat, or else she screams at a deafening volume the whole car ride. Is this normal. It seems to be the only thing to work, and it only works if she can't get her arms free. Her swaddle blanket has holes so you can buckle the seat belt properly first then swaddle her around the seat belt.

Give it time. My LO just started being good about the car seat. We use it with the stroller, so it was really hard to go on walks for a while. Now she likes it (or just tolerates, you never know) and will even fall asleep in it. She;ll be fine in a few weeks.

My little guy HATES his car seat as well.  I dread any car rides, long or short.  We have not found anything that works except taking him out when we arrive...instantly stops crying!  Good luck to you!

My baby has hated the carseat since day one. Only recently did we remove all the padding and just place her in there with the cover and she has started tolerating it a lot better.

I once spent 6 hours in a car alone with my older DD- she cried the entire time (and so did I!).  She was horrible in the car for the lonest time.  So it's not unusual, just terribly painful for Mommy.  I never thought to swaddle her- I wonder if that would have helped her.

Both of my boys screamed in the car from day 1 until they turned 1 and were turned forward facing. It is so stressful I know. Nothing helped them. And now DD has her days, luckily its not all the time like they were.
