JUST SAW THE GREATEST IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was lurking on 2under2, sometimes I pop in over there to see whats up! Anyway I saw a post about the "obligatory 2nd shower" and check out this response!  I think this is such an AWESOME idea and really, SOOOOOO USEFUL!!!

"Although I declined when my BFF asked to thow me a shower, I got one anyways. But she made my suprise shower a "casserole shower" so everyone brought a casserole for my freezer or a giftcard for food. Something I can actually use and it was fun to celebrate this baby too. It was also a much smaller shower than my first one. "

A CASSEROLE SHOWER...GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: JUST SAW THE GREATEST IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG, that is the coolest idea ever!

Y'know, until now I forgot about the "second" baby shower I had wanted to do for another SIL. (I think I talk about my SILs a lot here, but I have 4 and I'm usually never talking about the same one twice). Anyway, I had always though it would be a fun way to celebrate subsequent babies by having a teddy bear party. Everyone just gets together for some fun and everyone brings a small stuffed animal to be donated to a children's hospital. Or place like Ronald McDonald House, since that's where my brother and SIL had lived for a few months.

Eh, I'm not a fan of any showers that tell people that they have to bring something, especially WHAT to bring. Gifts should always be from the heart- not something we ask for.

I'm assuming she kept it small and with only her closest friends and family, though, so they probably don't care. But, it would be weird to get an invite like that for people I don't know very well.

Well, no, I wouldnt invite people I dont know very well to a regular 1st shower LOL..But if you were having an intimate little get together with your closest friends and family then I think it'd be more than fine. Gifts are from the heart but whats more from the heart than FOOD! lol.....Besides you can usually make ANY casserole for Under $10! Which is WAY less than people spend on shower gifts... I thought it was great!!

Once I went to a second wedding shower, (2nd marriage for both) and instead of reg. wedding gifts it was a cleaning shower...all gifts were things related to cleaning, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, soaps, towels, sponges, etc. It was cute.

  • I want this!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
