REALLY bad pain in side

Did anyone's labor start with really bad pains on their side? ?I think my body was "cleansing itself" on Thurs-Sat, ?Friday I was having bad lower back pain, then yesterday I spotted after intercourse (not uncommon I know), now today I am having bad pains in my left love handle area. Did labor start like this for anyone?

    Are you having contractions?

     

    I would massage the hurting area - it might just be the baby jabbing you. I often thought I was having cramps when it was just the baby jabbing my pelvis.

    Could be gas.  Trapped gas always hurts my sides in stabbing pains.
