Does anyone have one for their floors? I bought a Shark one a few years back and returned it since it did not really clean the grout like it said it should on the tile. I was wondering if they got any better? Reviews , which one do you have? I heard the ones with the hose is a better steamer than the mop ones. But I really want it to clean the kitchen tile floor grout , since I don't really have the time or energy to scrub them by hand
Re: steam cleaners
We have a steam cleaner that was left at our house by the former owners. it's by scounci (yes, the same company that makes hair scrunchies). It hos the hose/nozzle thingy on it, not a mop. It works great on everything I've ever tried it on, but I keep forgetting we have it so I don't use it all that often--never tried it on grout.
But I do know something that works GREAT on grout. We have a large area of white tile w/white grout. It was absolutely fithly with dirt and also had rust stains from washing the floor with well water (lots of iron in it). I made a solution of 1 part Bar Keepers Friend to 2 parts water. I applied that to the grout with a toothbush. I didn't even have to scrub or anything--the toothbrush was just the easiest way I could figure out to apply it. I only made enough of this solution to fill a regular kitchen cup and it was enough to do a 40 foot long hallway. I did my whole floor and then went back and mopped the whole thing with plain water.
