Crib Mobile in NICU

My nurse said that now our little guy is in the open crib we should make him a mobile to hang over the top for him to look at. he likes to gaze at things when he is awake. did you make one for your little one and if so i need all the ideas i can get. i want to make it the best for him at this stage making sure it isnt overstimulating or understimulating! TIA

I don't think I ever saw DS awake unless it was feeding time.  Maybe something in black/white and isn't too busy.  Pictures of animals from clip art?

stella loved her fisher price mobile that the NICU provided that attached to the side of her crib in the NICU (so much so that I had to buy her one for her pack & play at home because once we got her home, she would turn her head from side to side looking for it!).  this is the one we have now: https://www.nestingmode.com/uploads/product/12175351181.jpg  she loves it!

I got these black and white cards from giggle (https://www.giggle.com/p/14403/c/559/cl/875/Wee-Mobile.aspx) which I'd been using on the isolette but might now put in mobile.  I think black and white graphics are good.

etsy usually has great ideas. (or items to buy.

i read somewhere that mobiles should be put over the babies' feet. to keep them from being overstimulated... that way they can look away. also, it gives their little eyes a workout.

we brought in the fisher-price aquarium soother that we bought for him and put that on his crib. he loved it and still does...though now he thinks it's hilarious to turn it off and on at 5 am
