If your daughter doesn't use a potty seat anymore...

How on earth do they get the toilet paper off the roll without falling in?  Rory was having problems with pee going all over because the potty ring was just getting too small.  She couldn't spread her legs enough, and pee would go everywhere.

So, I finally got her to go without it, but she has to hold herself up, making it impossible to get the tp.  I had her getting the tp off the roll before she got on there, but if she sets it on the counter, she can't reach it.  I really need her to be able to go all on her own because, I swear, the only time she ever has to go is the second I sit down and start nursing Cohen.

  • Now, I know my DD is probably a little bit bigger than R, but she gets up there and scoots back, but leans forward, if that makes sense.  It keeps her balanced enough to be able to grab the toilet paper and she doesn't even have to hold on to the seat at all.
  • can you provide some 'pre cut' sheets for her close by or get one of the 'standing' toilet paper holders that can be moved close to the toilet? I think they sell those at BBB.
  • Loading the player...
  • Are you saying this is something I should be working on? ;) I still man the toilet paper duties.

Can you set the tp on a little stool next to the toilet and she could reach down to grab the roll?  I'm trying to think logistically if a stool is high enough for her to reach.

  • We have a little shelf right next to the toilet that I keep a roll on just for her.

    DD does this too.

I think she could do that.  I will have to try showing her.  There really isn't anything any closer than the counter to put the tp on.  I think mostly she is scared to try to reach for anything.

neeser - Yes!  You will want to work on this before Baby Brother is born!

  • She stands up when she'd done, dripping all over and gets it.

Been there!  And then she freaked out because she got the floor dirty, and came running out to me butt naked and crying.

  • all I can say is she comes home from daycare with her underwear 100% clean. I'm happy with that. I've started to teach her to grab the paper before she sits so its already handy.

  • I have the opposite problem. Emilia uses 1/2 the roll of effin toilet paper. I have resorted to ripping about 6 sheets at a time and replacing them on the roll so when Emilia goes for the toilet paper she can only get so much.

    Ditto everything j*w said.

This is what my DD does. Works like a charm.

  • She hops off, then wipes.  She's actually good about wiping the seat if she dribbled LOL
  • Have her grab the TP beforehand, and hold it while she pees instead of putting it on the counter.
