Another cloth wipes question....

What brand of wipes do you use?  I know a lot of people have recommended gerber washcloths but I cannot find them in Canada :(  So, I was just going to buy some with my next CD order and I'm wondering if one brand / style / fabric is better than others?  Do I want 2 sided ones?

The ones that are easily accessible for me are the Kissaluvs Sherpa wipes, Fuzzi Bunz wonder wipes, Jam Tots, Thirsties Fab wipes

I'm guessing it really doesn't matter but just wanted to get some opinions! Thanks :)

Re: Another cloth wipes question....

  • We got some dual sided washclothy ones (handmade) free with a dipe order that are super cute, but I prefer the thin flannel ones instead.  Because they're thinner, they're easier to get into the cracks and crevices that need to be cleaned.  I know I ordered those from one of the major CD websites, but don't remember which one - sorry!

  • I could be wrong but I think the reason people recommend Gerber washcloths is because they are thin, come in packs of 6, and aren't really great washcloths LOL.  So if you found any washcloths that are thin enough (and cheap enough) you could easily use those to round out your cloth wipe stash.  We've found some at dollar stores (do you have those in Canada?) that have worked great.  And if you have access to Target, their Circo brand wash cloths are also nice -- I think they have two kinds though.  One is thicker and nice for bathing and the other we use for wipes.

To answer your original question though I do prefer dual sided wipes.  Soft on one side and terry on the other seems to work best.

  • Yup, the others are right, the point is to find super cheap, super thin washcloths. Any brand will do.

  • we use plain flannel squares...i ordered some off etsy and recently made some from a receiving blanket.  they get the job done but aren't cute or fancy...
  • Honestly, I have some cheap flannel receiving blankets we had never used, cut them up, and didn't even sew the edges. They aren't super cute, but they work great, were free, and involved little work.

What a good idea!  We have so many blankets!  But to answer the question, we have some BG bamboo wipes that I like and when I realized we needed several more wipes, I bought Gerber washcloths.  But like other pp, just buy some cheap and thin washcloths.
