When I use the BG on LO, he always pees up his back. I never have any of the diaper's "innards" hanging out the back so I'm not sure why we're having issues. They should fit him okay as he weighs about 14 pounds. Any suggestions? TIA
Are they getting nice and snug around his waist? Also are the inserts wet or not? Does this happen right away or after some length of time. At 14 lbs they should fit, but of course it depends on how your LO is shaped. If he is really long and thin I suppose it's possible they may not get tight enough.

Thanks for replying. Yes, I feel they are snug around the waist. I checked the insert this time around and it does not feel wet. He peed up his back after about 5 minutes this time. I must be doing something wrong, huh? Thanks.
It sounds like they are repelling - I've never had a leak up the back even when there's a gap between Ally and her diaper around the waist. Are they new? How did you prep?

I agree - it sounds like repelling which means that there is a build-up (either detergent, natural oils from another diaper, or from diaper cream used) that is causing the pee to run off the suede cloth rather than soaking through to the insert. I would try a couple hot rinses of the diapers first to see if that helps. If not, you may have to strip using Dawn.

Thanks. I prepped using the directions from Jillian's Drawers. I only have one BG (the one I kept from the trial) and I'm trying to see if I want to order more. Maybe it is repelling. I don't have this problem with the FuzziBunz from the trial and I prepped them together in the same manner. Thanks for your help.

They're definitely repelling. Mine did the same.
Are you sure you didn't also wash anything else from the JD trial, like anything cotton? The BGs are really sensitive to natural oils...
