update on my job from about 2 weeks ago

ya, so long story short, i dont have a job anymore. this could not have come at a worse time. we just moved into our new house, baby on e the way, and in a huge custody battle with my DH's ex...wooo hooo. how fun.

now we have ZERO disposable income ( if we made $500 more a month that would cover the bills), so im trying to figure out how the heck we are gonna finish getting all the baby junk we need. uggg. i hate this, i havent been unemployed since i was 16. this 2 weeks off is the first i have had in 6 years. lol. thats the only good thing.

ya, so i thought i'd just update y'all on whats going on here in Bree-town , crap, crap, and more crap.

I would try to utilize Freecycle and community/church free yardsales. I'd also have a yardsale and sell what I don't need to cover the bigger baby items cost.

Also, look into your community foodbank for assistance. Yeah, it can be humbling to walk in with your DH's paystub and a stack of your bills to prove you require aid, but that's what they are there for.

And finally, breathe. Talk to your friends about barrowing the pricier items that you won't need for more than 6 months or so, like a carry carseat. See if you can trade child care in exchange to "buy" baby things you need from friends.

i have an etsy site, but im having trouble loading my pictures right now. so i have 2 items up right now.....ooooooo. im getting unelployment, but things were just barely squeeking by financially before i got fired, so now we are totally screwed. i wanna cry, but suprisingly, i havent yet

what really sucks is i didnt actually even do anything wrong. we are trying to get a lawyer as we speak. im just so exausted over all of this.

oh ya and the best part, i was the one who carried the families health benifits, so we have healthcare for another two weeks, home birth anyone ???(jk)

Were you the one that had an issue related to cleaning C-Diff?

I suggest contacting any social services that you can think of. If you don't know of any in your area, contact the United Way because they act as a resource for services. You would call UW and ask for whatever services you are seeking. In a lot of areas you can dial "211" and be directly connected to UW.

You can also try to get on medicaid for health services, and possibly food assistance. Your children might qualify for some services for free.

Consider seeking out WIC (women, infants, and children program). Basically it is a program where you can get food and formula for free. If you are pregnant/breastfeeding and fall in their income guidelines you would be eligible, and kids are eligible up to a certain age. You can find out more about this through your local community action agency.

Another great way to save on food is to contact Angel Food Ministries if they are anywhere near you. They offer food at great prices. You generally would buy a unit of food that costs about $30, and it generally feeds a family of four for a week. They also accept food stamps/assistance so it can stretch the food budget even more if needed. Keep in mind these would NOT be organic, but they do offer extras you can add on, like produce or meat packages at very reasonable prices. More info is at www.angelfoodministries.com
