Rec. training pants!

We are looking forward to potty training (ha ha ha) this fall/winter, so I am investigating training pants options now.  What have you found to be useful/helpful, and where's the best place to get the best deal?

(I don't know if it matters... but she's been in BGs all along now.)

Thanks!

Re: Rec. training pants!

  • We just started PTing. She has the Gerber training pants, I got them at BRU but they have them at Target and Walmart too. I put those on her with a wool cover and it works great so far! They're not absorbent for long, but I don't think they're meant to be. They work for accidents and then we change and use the potty.

  • we just use an unstuffed pocket. if you snap/velcro it loosely, it can pull up & down like undies. we also have a few of the gerber, they don't hold a leak at all so we only use them at home.
  • We also have the gerber training pants.  They don't hold much,  but they are great for catching the oops as she runs to the potty. At home we just use the gerber trainers, but really mainly she goes bare butt, as that is just the easiest for her to remember that she needs to use the potty.  She isn't reliable enough with a lot of distraction so for trips out of the house we put her back in a diaper, which means she just pees the second she gets in them because she can.  I am looking into some wool to put over the gerber trainers, so that she is a bit more aware of remembering to use the potty out of the house too.
