I have to rave about Gymboree for a minute.

I'm not a huge Gymboree fanatic and although I think that they have some cute baby stuff I'm kind of over the store in general. That being said, I recently placed an order for some plain jeans and corduroy pants for ds because I saw that they're now offering a them in slim (and husky) sizes in addition to their regular sizes.

The pants are awesome. They fit ds better than any other off-the-rack pants he's ever worn. They're smaller in the waist of course (and they still have the adjustable waist) but they're also cut much slimmer through the hips and butt. They look so much better on him than the normal size 4 pants that get all bunchy and baggy when you cinch in the waist really tightly.

Anyhow, if you've got a skinny kid you might be pleasently surprised by how well these pants fit. And if you're not into the whole matchy-matchy Gymboree themes they seem to have a decent selection of plain stuff online right now too.

That is good to know. DS is in cloth diapers and his pants still barely stay up most of the time. I don't know how in the world pants are going to stay up on him when he is potty trained and in underwear.?

Thanks for posting this. I always have trouble finding pants for Trevor and run into all of the problems you mentioned. I never even look at Gymboree clothes.

Hey. How big is Miles now? Annalise is in size 4 at Gymboree now, and I need to cinch in the waist about 3 on each side. She's 41.5" and 36.5 lbs. How far in did you have to bring the waist on the regular pants? Wondering if the slims would be too slim for us.

I have a very skinny, tall 5 yr old as well.  Only Gymboree and TCP pants will work for us.

He's about 39/40 inches tall and 31 lbs. I still have to cinch in the waist about 4 notches on each side, but they still don't look quite so bunched/gathered around the waist.

Hmm... I wonder if the slims would just fit. I like them to be a little big so I can cinch and let out as she grows. But she still has 3s that are in 1-2 notches. Guess we may have to start trying things on in the stores.
