You guys understand the costs of some of these things so I thought I'd get your opinion. Just a quick background - my bff of 20+ years was basically living vicariously through my pregnancy with Noel. At the time I think she wasn't sure if her and her then gf/ now wife would ever try to have a baby or if they would be successful if they did. So basically she bought me everything under the moon. I got a giant garbage bag full of new clothes (mostly things she got on sale/ clearance but still - given before the shower), one of those floor gym things and I don't even remember how many disposable diapers - I want to say at least 7 large boxes. Obviously I am not in the position to reciprocate in the same way but I really wanted to get her something special and useful.
I'm hoping that this seems like a decent gift but if not - what would you recommend adding to it? And yes they plan on cding.
Handmade nursing cover
3 small (possibly a fourth if I can get my butt in gear in the next week) handmade fitteds in cute prints
1 small handmade fleece cover in cow print (bff is obsessed with cows)
Lovely Duds organic wrap in chocolate brown. Bff wants nothing to do with any carriers except the bijorn that they registered for but when I talked to her wife she told me that she was really interested in getting something like a Moby for her to use. I know they're doing a lot of organic and I liked the idea that there would be something specifically that her wife was interested in at the shower.
Re: Does this sound like a good baby shower gift?
I think that sounds like a great gift
And I think it's really nice that you're doing the wrap for her wife even though bff is into the bjorn.
If you wanted to add something to it you could make a "taggie" type lovie with the cow fabric on one side or a stroller/crib blanket with the cow fabric.
Ooooh what a great idea! I still have a ton of the fabric left because I bought enough to make covers for both my son and my impending dd as well (some of her cow obsession has rubbed off on my over the years). That would be an excellent addition and wouldn't take me too long to whip up!
