Hi. Right now I'm using Crinone (I just went down to 1 a day) and it is really bothering me (itchy/burning/etc). I basically walk around all day like I have a bad YI. It's horrible. My RE's office said that if I wanted to try to switch, I can either do PIO shots or try Endometrin. If possible, I'm going to try to avoid the shots, so wanted to see if anyone has any experience on Endometrin. If so, did you have any issues on it? I have 5 weeks left from today on progesterone and I honestly don't think I'll make it on Crinone!
Re: Anyone use Endometrin?
I used Endometrin and it is pretty nasty. I didn't have any burning or itching though, just some mild irritation and cramping. It leaks out and you have to wear a panty liner unless you want a big wet spot. You will probably start with twice a day and your RE will gradually decrease to once a day, then every other day. I was on it until 11 weeks.
Good luck!
Honestly nearing the end of endometrium it was driving me crazy. Gross discharge, feeling icky down there. I needed to do it 3 times a day.
I did PIO in previous cycles I had kind of wished I never switched! A sore butt for a few weeks would have been better IMO
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I used Endometrin but never PIO. I had no real problems with the Endometrin other than the leaking. I was originally on one a day and did it right before I went to bed. I had no leaking the next morning. But then I started on 2X a day and had to wear a liner for the morning. I also had pregnancy symptoms with them, but was pregnant so I don't know what caused the symptoms. I started at 1DPO and was on them until 12 weeks.
I would go with the shots. I was on Endometrin 3x/day and begged my Dr to switch me to PIO. PIO hurt like hell but pain once a day at least for me was preferable to the inconvenience of supps 3x and leaking all day. Good luck!!
I hated the shots and begged to switch to Endometrin
Best switch I could have made. There is some messiness, but just wear a pantiliner. The PIO was causing painful lumpiness and bruising and my muscle was constantly sore. A little messiness was nothing in comparison

this was basically my experience, except that i was started at 3x/day (100 mg/each) + PIO's 2x/day (2ml am, 1 ml pm = 150 mg). i ended up having an infected wound from a shot gone wrong and they told me i could stop the PIO's about a week ago.
