xp: working mommas

I wanted to take some time to thank you ladies for supporting me these last couple months. I had a really, really rough time transitioning into going back to work after maternity leave. I never thought I would love motherhood as much as I do, and want to spend so much time with my DD. So many of you told me to give it time, talk it out, and take each day as it comes. It DID get easier. So thank you. I also wanted to write this for all the soon to be working moms. It is going to be tough ... trust me, but hopefully most of you will come out of this experience knowing that you are a better mom for working, while also doing what is best for your family. Are there days when I wish I did not have to work FT, YES! Are there days that I miss DD terribly, YES. But I now know that working is the best thing for me and my family. It did take me 2 very long, depressing months to figure this out though. It is a crazy life, but I would not have it any other way. So thank you again, and best of luck to all the working moms out there. We rock!

Re: xp: working mommas

  • We are on week 2 of daycare, and I have to agree with you. It is a very tough thing to do, but IMO it is worth it! DD only goes part time, and I get to bring her to work in the afternoons. I plan to cut back to part time eventually, but working and being a mom is very difficult. I think it is worth it for me to work in order for our family to live comfortably and have some "luxury" items, and I also think it is good for DD to have some exposure to other kids and adults. I guess I just wanted to reinforce your encouragement to other soon-to-be working moms! It will be tough, but you will make it!
