NSTs do not work if you do not move. You got the nurse practioner and mommy all worried this afternoon. Please do not do that again!
Love,
Mommy
Tori slept during my NST so I was in the chair for an hour without even a kick. Her heartrate was ok though. They had me eat a snack, drink water, the NP shook the baby (no joke) and they busted out a vibrator. Nothing worked. She called the doctor in (not my usual) but he said that as long as I was feeling her early today, it was OK but that if she does this again on Friday they will need to investigate. Of course she's moving around like crazy right now.
In other news, I got the GD situation under control for now. I am no longer seeing the pea-brain dietician, only the high risk OB NP. She apologized for all the confusion, and straightened everything out. I am uping my short term insulin at dinners, and only need to take it once a day again (much different than the dietician suggested). My docs office got involved as well, and my doctor will follow up with me on Friday. Finally, some good news!
ETA: I should add that the vibrator was used on my stomach for you pervs out there. LOL!
Re: Dear Baby Tori...
lol @ the vibrator! And yay for the good GD news. How are the shots going?
Eh, the shots are ok. I am using a pre-filled pen. It is what it is.
Hopefully its just short term.
Glad that you got better news and that the doctor is monitoring you and not the dietician.
At least she's moving!
