Dog with allergies.. any green alternatives

What are you feeding him?  The most common allergy is corn allergies.  Feed a food without corn filler, and you're going a long way to being green.

What is the dog allergic to?

Your vet should be able to give you a benadryl dosage if it's seasonal (like pollen, etc).

If your dog is losing fur in addition to itching, it could be an allergy to something in his food. What are you feeding?

We use fragrance free dye free shampoo regularly.  You also may want to switch the food to one that is better for skin sensitivities... grain free is good... we use Canidae brand which has help ours lessen the foot licking/chewing.

Oh... and careful of whats on the grass at parks or at your home... we wash our pup's paws after park outings cause of pesticides & chemical sprays used

Our furbaby has tons of allergies. We switched to a free and clear laundry detergent, bathe him less often, clean w/non-scented stuff (lots of vinegar/baking soda), found a food thats mostly grain free (check dogfoodanalysis site), give him brewers yeast/yogurt on a regular basis, and he has improved immensely. We can't do anything about some allergies so when we have to he gets benadryl.

My lab was on benedryl for most of her life. She also had like a protein based food additive, don't know what it was - you could probably stick a little olive oil in her food occasionally as well.
