Babies on the Brain

What frivolous issues...

...get discussed at length in your marriage?  DH and I have had numerous conversations about which sports teams (yes, we are weird) our phantom kids will root for.  DH and I don't root for any of the same teams, but are both rabid sports fans.  We apparently came to the agreement that they will root for the Lakers (mine), White Sox (his) and split their NFL loyalty down the middle with the Raiders and Bears. I know he's going to try to lure them to all his teams though...

Did I mention that our imaginary children get no say in the matter? Oh, and that we are nuts?

    ?

    Not if it's UCLA :-)

I can't think of anything that we discuss. ?Maybe just everything we want to teach and give our children. But I think that's normal. ?

  • We discuss this type of thing all the time. Then laugh and say, watch when our kids hate sports or worse yet, us.

We discuss a million frivolous things, the main offender being his video game sports teams. He is constantly talking about them like they're real.

  • We talk about things like acceptable stuffed animals.

    Yep.  I'm serious.

I'm not a fan of the traditional stuffed bear, and DH is...I prefer things like elephants and giraffes.

Oh, also what sports/activities our phantom children will do.  Again...we're lame.

    ...and our fantasy football teams.

  • DH is determined that he's going to teach our kid everything he knows about computers and technology.  I kind of laugh a bit.  I can see him with an infant back in the office, "This is what the motherboard looks like".
  • I am really glad we aren't the only ones who do this type of thing.

  • I threaten DH that I will make our phantom baby (who we call Patches, FYI) a soccer fan since he hates soccer.

And I am probably doomed to have a kid who hates sportsand thinks we are completely BSC.

  • We discuss what we will call our unborn child until we know the sex and have a real name.

My DH is now doing that to DD. She will grow up with a Nerd (Me) and a Geek (DH) so she'd going to be a N'eek or a G'erd. I have the feeling she'll put together her first computer by age 5 (with our help).
