Twice in the past couple of months, they have suddenly cancelled our debit cards (first my H's, then mine - thankfully not both at the same time) because one of the merchants we used had their account information hacked into. They did this with no warning - we just tried to pay for something or make a withdrawal and our cards didn't work.
The day my card was canceled, I was headed to a business lunch that I was supposed to pay for. My H and I share ONE credit card and we leave it at home, so I had to spend a frantic 20 minutes on the phone getting my card activated for 3 hours, then they had to deactivate it again.
This was two weeks ago. I am on hold with BoA asking where the eff my new debit card is, and it turns out they never put in a request for a new debit card for me...
Time to find a new bank, I think. GAH.

"It's a child, not a cheeto" Thanks mmariluh!
"Ew. I've read all of two posts from you, and you stink like rotting garbage."
Thats too bad.
I have been with BOA for the last 10 years and have never had any problems. Any time something happens, I call and they fix it right away.
My parents have their mortgage with them too and have never had any problems. DH and I are going refinance with BOA as well.
I guess it all depends on your "home" bank.
Um, me too!!
We only keep a limited amt of $$ in our checking acct. We try to stick to a budget & are paying off debts, so the less we have in our checking acct, the better. So I have an auto transfer every payperiod to savings to keep the acct balance low.
This weekend, our scheduled transfers occurred. DH got paid today, and there was a bill that also comes out today. So what happens? They debit the acct for the bill & THEN credit DH's Direct deposit. Uggghhh! I have talked with them on the phone about this several times in the past several months. We have the $ to cover it, but when the bank transfers $$ from savings to checking, it costs $10 a pop....just another way to nickel & dime us.
We are switching to USAA this Friday. Now I'll have to switch all of our online bill pay--THAT will be a PITA!

Man everyone hates BofA except us.
We love them.
Someone DRAINED our checking and savings accounts, and we had money back in the account in less than an hour. They called us to tell us it happened and everything.
I did my car loan through them as well, and when we buy a house we'll use them.
I used to have Wachovia in college, and I would rather keep my money in the mattress than ever deal with them again.
Seriously though. We love BofA. I can't imagine ever leaving.
BofA cancelled all our cards when we went to NYC. The first thing that DH tried to buy when we got there, they cancelled ALL our cards assuming it had been stolen and taken to NY. We couldn't use any of them until they mailed us new ones. Thank God for credit cards or we would have been SCREWED.
