Babies: 0 - 3 Months

If your LO went through a phase where they would only nap on you...

...did they ever go back to normal napping?  I'm not talking about newborns either since I think most of them only nap when being held.  I'm talking about babies 3 months and older.

I feel like I'm setting up a bad habit, but it's the only way Ben will nap right now and without naps he is miserable.  So here I sit, holding him, and hoping this form of shut-eye will someday disappear again.  Love to hold him, but at 17 pounds he isn't easy on my back!  Not to mention I cant get anything done.

  • I did a mini ferber at 3 1/2 months (I know I cheated, but he sttn so I knew he could self soothe just fine and it was just naps)- went in at 2-3 min intervals instead of the 5. By the end of the 1st day it worked.

  • Yes, my Ben also went through this. It was right around 12-14 weeks he would only nap on me. Now he naps in the swing or playpen though. We are still working on napping in the crib though. He mainly naps in the swing though, I just give him something to hold like a burp cloth or his teddy/blankie thing.

He is freaking huge!  I like to point out that he takes after daddy, not me - since I am just a skinny whore.

Gotta love the baby carriers.  Might i suggest a mei tai or ergo?

I know - I should be using ours.  I have a lillebaby & a Bjorn.  Next time he's sleepy I'll just stick him in one of those.  Thanks
