Pain in right rib

has anyone experienced pain in their right rib? and if so did you ask her dr what its from?

Re: Pain in right rib

  • I had it yesterday on my left rib. I think it's the rib cage expanding as the uterus is growing.

  • All the time!  It is always in the same spot on my right side and seems especially bad if I am sitting for a long time.  I thought that I had bruised my rib, but my midwife said that it is possible the baby is leaning its foot into it...that seems pretty high up for the baby to be though.
  • I've had this on and off. My OB said don't worry about it unless the pain increases. Mine is just dull and achy so who knows.
  • Is it your actual rib or just in the general area? Your abdominal muscles connect below your belly and just below your ribs - those are the two sites you will feel that most muscle stretching in your abs, so that could be what you're feeling.
  • yes!  especially when im laying on the couch.  its really painful.  im asking my dr about it next week at my appt, but i assumed it was everything expanding.
