**Genevieved** Soaker pattern

I use Katrina's soaker pattern. I know that a lot of ladies on here who have made their own soakers have used her pattern. I find I need to make the rise a bit longer (and I've heard this from others too) but otherwise it's a really easy to follow pattern. It was one of my first sewing projects since Junior High and it turned out great.

Once on her homepage just look to the right and down and you'll see the links for Free Soaker Patterns and Soaker Sewing Instructions

  • Thanks, now my next question is I have heard that wool soakers you don't have to wash them after every diaper change but what about fleece?

I may have just found me next sewing project after I finish the cloth wipes.

  • Wool can go weeks between washing (when it hasn't been soiled by solids) because it's naturally antimicrobial plus when it's been lanolized the lanolin cleans the diaper as it gets wet (I don't fully understand the lanolin to cleaner process but everything I've read on wool says this).

Fleece obviously has none of these qualities. We don't wash our fleece covers after every use but I throw them in when the diapers go in every couple of days. Basically I treat fleece like PUL covers. I rotate and air out throughout the day and wash on wash day.
