What to do with "me" time?

I am going to get some "me" time before DH goes out of town Thursday.  My first thoughts were to go to the local yarn store, which is closed at 6 pm and therefore wouldn't work...I also thought of a movie, but I'm not interested in any of the movies the local place is showing.  So, ideas?  I want to get out of the house.  I would go to Joanns, but I need to use up my fabric stash.  I was figuring that if I went to the yarn store I could work on a project instead of just shopping.  I'm so bummed they'll be closed.  I'm going to check their class schedule and make sure they aren't having something then, but my hopes aren't set too high.

Re: What to do with "me" time?

  • How about just going to the book store and getting some tea/hot chocolate/italian soda and just browsing?

  • Maybe a local coffee shop?  You can always bring a project there, and maybe a friend or two.  Or maybe some outdoor time at the arboretum or perhaps book shopping?  Is there a store you've been meaning to look at?

  • Ooo, I can get absolutely lost in the book store.  That's bliss to me.  Get a nice cup of something at the cafe and just relax while you browse and sit in the comfy chairs.  You can even look at yarn books!

  • I do love the bookstore, but there's only a mom and pop one here with a not-so-great selection and no place to sit.  The closest B&N (my fave) is an hour away, so that won't work.

Also, all the people I know here are going to be spending time with their hubbies and/or out of town starting tomorrow.  I would go to one of the semi-local amish stores, but they close at dusk and I definitely wouldn't be able to go until 6...

I'm so sad that my "me" time may be in jeopardy!

  • I'm with Papagena - go to a coffee shop, bring a project, and just sit and crochet.  I used to do that before DS was born and it was lovely.

Yes  bring something else too, in case it's a slow night.  That would suck.

I HIGHLY recommend their pumpkin spice mocha.  If they had it around the whole year, Aih, but it's a great fall treat!!!!  MMMMMM!

I've been hearing people talk about the latte.  I tend to be a mocha person, but I cannot imagine how it would taste.  I also don't know if I should get caffeine, since having 1 more coke than usual keeps me awake.  We'll see!

You can get decaf - I do about half the time because I like to limit my caffeine with DS nursing.
