I saw this in someone's siggy on another board. It intrigues me, because it's very true. The explosion of narcissism in our culture disgusts me. That said, I have a FB and Myspace, though I am rarely on MS and I post a status on FB maybe once a week.
I just don't get twitter. I can't help but think that a person has to be so vain and narcissistic to tweet. If it's your family, maybe. But if you just have friends and you're tweeting that you got your hair cut and blah blah blah how fab you are, I just don't get it. And I had to google tweetstalk - creepy!
Thoughts?
P.S. Don't hate me if you use Twitter

Re: Let's discuss this bubble chart
I tweet. I like it. So there :P
I totally agree with you, though. Although, I justify my narcissism by telling myself theses social networking things are all good ways to keep in touch.
I find that hilarious.
But I don't get twitter either.
Mother's Day, 2011
I'm on FB once in awhile. That's all I do beside AW here.
I CAN'T FIND ME IN THIS CHART!
Please help me figure out where I fit in
Yeah, they are good ways to keep in touch, if that's what a person primarily uses these sites for. Some people just use them as a megaphone for their larger-than-life egos.
let's see....i tweet, facebook, and myspace. and i have NO vanity or narcissm. I'd be the first to tell you that i'm a pimply fat ass. i tweet to get me through the day and to keep up with my wifey's (mrsgo4hockeychick and phanatic). i facebook to play games and see pictures of my friends kids.
myspace, i got to keep in touch with my 18 yo brother but haven't used it since he moved back to yee-haw junction FL and doesn't have a computer.
so, i think your bubble chart is way wrong.
bubble chart? LOL
I think you mean Venn Diagram.
LOL. I totally agree about wanting to read some people on twitter. I'm sure there are some very interesting and hilarious people, but again, the narcissism of it turns me off.
And for some reason, I don't equate AWing on here with being a narcissist. This board is more like a board of "friends" so to me it's not quite the same.
I guess I should also clarify that I know some people post random stuff on FB and that I don't think that makes you vain. Not all people on FB are narcissistic jerks. Just some people.
) I hope that makes sense.
Oh yes, and where is the area for persons who feel the need to rudely correct others and drop by to make overt displays of their own intelligence on the good ol' narcissism chart?
Yawn.
Hey, it's not MY chart. Someone else created that.
And if you'll read my other post, you'll see that I don't pigeonhole anyone with a FB account. I said I have one.
And there are plenty of people with no self-esteem and depression that are focused on themselves.
wow you took that wrong.
If I did, I apologize. I'm never sure with you, though, and that mysterious lab coat of yours.
I took it the same way, Papagena. I mean, the "LOL" seemed to be making fun of me, but whatever. I really don't care. I'm just not one of those people that feels the need to correct everyone, and I'm an English teacher!
I found the term "bubble chart" (which I have never seen before) in place of Venn Diagram to be a funny thing, hence LOL.
You all KNOW I'm douchier than that. If I wanna call it out there would be no misunderstanding.
Also, the white coat is very slimming, don't you think?
I saw a man at LensCrafters yesterday that looked like you (well, the siggie pic), except slightly fairer in complexion. You're right - his black coat did nothing for his figure, while you look, well, almost-approaching-sort-of-svelte. And now, I'm slightly skeeved out that he helped me pick out eyewear. *shudders* No offense...
True, you are way douchier. still, did sound a lil' rude. *sprinkles M_H with some rainbow dust and sings kumbaya*

Oh, I love it, too. And I'm being sincere.
But to me, it just shows our desensitivation to our "me-me-me" culture.
I guess this is just one of those topics I'm very opinionated on.
did you include this? I don't see it any different than this
