Anyone used Panko breadcrumbs? It seems like I am hearing more and more about this stuff lately. It's been mentioned on Food Network 3 times in the last couple of weeks. I was thinking about baking some homemade chicken tenders or breasts using them.
Does anyone have any experience using Panko? Can you describe it to me a little? Is it more/less crunchy, flavorful, thick, etc., than regular breadcrumbs?
Re: Tell me about Panko.
Aaaaaaah, memories of Japan. LOVE that place.
Panko is crunchier and lighter. Very yummy.
I have used panko with chicken tenders and fried them in olive oil and they were REALLY good. I thought it had a great flavor. Not as healthy as your baking suggestion but really good!
You can get it in the Asian aisle in any grocery store - Fry's, Safeway and I think even Walmart all carry it.
