Ugh Elastic Issue BG 3.0s

One of my diapers on only one side has the elastic stretched all the way out - I don't know what happened. It was fine when put in the wash - none of the others have issue but when it came out of the dryer it was stretched.

Any remedy other than tossing it? Thanks!

  • I would see if it falls under warranty.  It should if you bought them new and it has been less than a year since you bought them.

ditto.  give cotton babies a call.

  • Do you think there is anything I did wrong to cause this? I use CC and on occasion I add in some baby oxy-clean (not eff I know) but it helps when we run into any stink issue. And on occasion I also use vinegar instead.

Maybe I'm drying on too high of heat.

  • If it's not under warranty (like if you bought it used), you could fix the elastic is you are okay at sewing (with a machine) or know someone who is.

  • You don't even really need a sewing machine- you could fix it with just a seam ripper and hand sewing.

That said, dryer heat and vinegar can both shorten elastic life.  It is best to only use vinegar occasionally, not with every wash.  I doubt baby oxiclean did it- most likely the elastic got caught on the agitator of our washer and got yanked hard enough that it couldn't recover.  If it was just elastic age/wear and tear, both saides should be stretched out.
