Which part of the diaper is the fabric for, and what are your options?
Microfleece isn't an absorbent fabric, but rather a wicking (stay-dry) fabric that is appropriate for the inside of the diaper (against baby's skin). Microfleece is what Happy Heiny uses for the inside of their dipes.

it'd be a PUL outside and choice for inside. choices apparently (i think!) are: birdseye, terry, microfleece, suedecloth, flannel, velour, cotton knit, bamboo velour. and i don't even know what 1/2 these fabrics are! yikes.
3 of mine are bamboo velour (natural color) and the other 2 are regular velour (pink for one, aqua for the other). The velour is pretty absorbant and I like having natural fibers next to DD's skin.

Let me break it down for you a little bit.
Stay dry fabrics (your LO's skin will stay more dry with these, but they won't add absorbency): microfleece (like the Happy Heiny diaper) suedecloth (like the bumGenius diaper)
Absorbent fabrics (will add absorbency to the diaper, but your LO's skin may be more moist): birdseye (sort of like the old-school dishtowels that are huge and thin) terry (like a bath towel) flannel (like a receiving blanket) velour (like a track suit -- the soft fuzzy kind) cotton knit (like a tee shirt) bamboo velour (like a super silky soft fuzzy track suit, but the silkyness wears off after multiple washings and ends up more like regular velour)
