I've had a problem student who's been an off and on but mostly on issue for the last three months. The situation is rearing its ugly head again, at a really bad time, and I'm totally, utterly and completely freaked out on the verge of a breakdown in my office freaked out. I need to get this taken care of but I can barely move for shaking and hardly see for the tears I'm fighting...anyone out there with a magical "make it all better wand" I can borrow for a minute or three?

Can you lock your office door and have a quick cry?

Is the magic wand a euphamism for "beat the idiot with a large stick"? Cause I could supply you with one of those.
Hugs!
When I taught it was more a problem parent than problem student that caused those feelings (though often they went hand in hand). The best magical wand was the end of the year when I got to pass them onto someone else. I know it is different at the level you're teaching as the problems can last past the term ending. Sorry I can't offer more than hugs.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this
You know, I do live next to a national forest full of large sticks just lying around.
I could bring you one and say it's from Pixy and myself.
Thanks women. E-warm-fuzzies are up there on my list of things that are fabulous.
And I would totally appreciate a stick, assuming that it is harvested in an EF way and won't be traceable after being used. People to pass it off to are icing on the cake

Sticks are burnable, Duh!
You are a kind, brilliant, amazing and gorgeous woman. I am certain that the problem lies with the student, and not with you. This will work out. It will be okay. I'm praying for you today.
