I thought I'd post a pic of me (a *couple* yrs older than I was when I lived in Ottawa though haha) and you can tell me if we met each other.
I freakin loved Ottawa. DH is back at school to get into computer networking, and we were hoping to move there when he was done his course. We're seperating now though, so that likely won't happen. Well he may go if work takes him there, but I'm not sure I'll be going. Although, who knows really. I wouldn't be too hard to convince to move back there, even if it meant us moving there seperately still.
Anyway here's me recently.
Re: Oh laaaaaanie!!
You doooo look familiar to me. So strange. WE probably met up at the papery.
::scratches head:: Or maybe I nearly ran you off the road in your current town when I was there on a road trip a few years ago.
HAHA!!
I've been back up north since 2004, so it's possible - the whole running off the road thing.
I more or less lived at the Arrow and The Loon. I was in serious crush with the cook there...lol Also, the Clocktower. I worked briefly at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio. Well, I use "worked" loosely - I trained there to be a teacher, but didn't complete the training program as the studio director was EFFING PSYCHO...lol
There was another pub I hung out at quite a bit that I can't think of the name - it was a chain I think, there were these pubs all over town. English style pub, black something? Maybe? Gawd, trying to pull specifics out of the drunk haze is HARD work...lol
I'm fine. I'm staying in Sudbury, its' where my family is so I'll stay here for now anyway. Things are weird, we're still living together while we find other places of our own. Things are amicable, and mostly friendly. Still sucks, but I really think this is for the best. We've had a whole host of issues piling up on top of each other, and just felt it was best to cut our losses now before one of us really does do something awful to the other.
I'm being vague, but hopefully that explains a little...lol
My brother was a bartender at the heart and crown (?) an English pub near the glebe. Would be weird if you were in there.
So strange. Small world. I feel for you with the separation. How are the kids doing? do they know yet?
Yeah I think the Heart and Crown was the one I'm thinking of. I loved that place. Many a drunken night in there (its on Bank St?)
The kids...well, Abby's still too young to understand much right now. We haven't said anything to Evan just yet. Not directly. He doesn't understand a lot of abstracts yet, so I think it will be more of a "he'll get it as we go through it" kind of thing. But we did go for the weekend to my mom's this weekend while she was out of town (she lives outside of Sudbury), first me alone on Friday and then me with the kids on Saturday.
Evan asked where Daddy was, and I said that he was at our house and we would be staying in this house. And Evan said "Oh. Okay. Night night Mama". haha
I think it's good that they are so young still, I'm hoping we can get through this with as minimal damage as possible to them.
I think separations can be done really well. You both love the kids enough to do what's best for you and them.
GOod luck and let me know if you need anything.
